How to Choose Conference Call Services

Conference call services offer many different advantages to your business, and as such the specific service you choose needs to be selected carefully.  You do not want to lose a deal because of poor quality, or a confusing dial in system.  Your main focus should be cost, ease of use, and quality.

The cost of the conference call services depends on many factors.  The group size, features you want to include, and whether you need operator assistance all factor into the final cost.  Some services will charge by the minute or session, while others will charge a flat rate.  If you are going to be using conference call services a great deal, you can work out a better deal for your company.

Ease of use is a hard factor to pin down.  You won't always know the technical competency of the people you are conferencing with.  If this is a training session, it is a good way to weed out people that can't follow simple directions.  If this is a sales call, then you cannot afford to be so callous.  The best way to find out this information is to ask your client whether they have even used conference call services before.  If they haven't, spend the extra money for operator assistance to get them up to speed.

Quality is one factor that is easy to determine.  Most conference call services will allow you to take a quick trial of the conference call, simply to ensure that the call quality is top notch.  You shouldn't have to worry about your voice breaking up, even a world away.

A few features that you will most likely need to pay more for, but can be useful, include:

*Roll calls – This is only with operator assisted calls.  They will perform a roll call and make sure everyone is in the conference.

*Subconferencing – Allows for private talking between two members of the conference

*Broadcasting – This mutes most of the people in the conference, allowing only a select few to speak.

*Q&A – This feature is great for training sessions.  It allows for an audio signal when a person wants to ask a question.

All of these can greatly enhance your conference call, and most conference call services offer them.
